THE WETA
A Capvista Limited Production
Within Capvista Limited, we undertook an in-house endeavour titled "The Weta," a creature feature-styled short film set in 1977 New Zealand. Our work primarily focused on 3D environments and creature animation, our main task was to bring to life an 8-meter-long, 2-meter-tall Giant Tree Weta for the film. For certain scenes we were also tasked with creating digi-doubles of the main actors in the film for specific scenes. Using photogrammetry and our motion capture systems we were able to incorporate these animated digi-doubles into our fully CGI enviroments.
This endeavour allowed us to leverage our expertise in 3D visual effects to create captivating and photorealistic results.
With a public release on the horizon, we look forward to showing the work we did on this project!
